Sometimes we need a reminder to remember how strong we are. Sometimes we forget how amazing and how much potential we have within us. We let our power remain dormant and hidden away instead of front and center. Today, I want to remind you that you have the power to choose what is yours today. You have the power to give it your all or give in to everything. In order to have a strong mindset, you have to have a strong mind. Physical strength alone will only get you so far. What strength do you have, and what strength do you seek?
The strength we all have is the power to make choices. We can make good choices that can help people and embellish our lives, or we can make poor choices that hurt others and set us back from our desired life. This kind of strength you have no matter what situation you are in. This is your free will at work to choose to use your strength or let it remain unused. I see that many people are letting their strengths be unused during these times. They convince themselves that there is nothing that they can do, and that is what they do, nothing. When you tell your mind something, it better be good because it will try to make an excuse or give a reason for it to reject the true reality.
We must understand our reality is happening right now. We should focus our strength on not only doing what’s right but also doing what is needed. Sometimes you will not feel like doing something or answering the call when life is on the line. This is due to a person’s lack of determination and understanding. If you could only understand that every moment is precious, then you would not waste it in denial. You would focus all that you have for a better today and tomorrow. However, people see this opportunity as challenging and undesirable at the moment. What they should be doing is looking at this challenge as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to propel themselves further toward their most desired life. To make a difference not only in your life but also those around you. You have to have control over your body and mind in order to progress with purpose in life.
The problem with not having control of your strength is that you let time waste away. You might call it taking a break or De-stressing, but what you really end up doing is wasting your time. What do you want your life filled with right now? Are you happy where you are right now? If so, then, by all means, keep doing what you are doing. However, if you are dreaming and hoping for a better future, then you should not let a day go by when you do not put maximum effort towards reaching your goals/dreams. I am not saying that you cannot take breaks from your most desired life. What I want you to realize is that you are prolonging your journey because you have given your all each and every day. There is nothing wrong with taking a detour, but do not let those detours be the reason you never reach your true potential.
The world wants to see what you have to offer, but you cannot do that in your comfort zone. It requires huge amounts of strength and determination to do things that are challenging or things that you may not want to do. Well, it is in those moments when you have to leave your comfort zone and get uncomfortable that will help you grow. If you remain in the same place your whole life, then you are in a stagnation zone. Where you want to be is in the growth zone. You must learn to utilize the full strength and potential that you are blessed with each day. You must realize that you are not giving your all and then commit to changing that aspect of your life. Your goals depend on how far you are willing to go out of your comfort zone. Recently I started a new goal progression strategy. This helps me realize where my comfort zone is and how far away it is from the success I seek.
The way I made the chart was a series of five steps in order to know where my comfort zone is and maximum effort. The first step was the bare minimum of what I was looking to accomplish. For example, I had to send one email or make one call. As you can see, that is very simple. It might take me 30 seconds from my day to accomplish this task. However, step 1-2 is in my comfort zone. Step one is the minimum, and step two is closer to the border of my comfort zone (i.e., Five calls or emails). You can imagine now that step three would be more, and it would continue until I reached way out of my comfort zone in step five of 100 calls or emails.
This new process helps me identify how much strength I am expanding and how much I am leaving unused. I know for a fact I can do at least 100 emails and calls in a day. I have done it before, so that means that I can do it again. Complacency is a dangerous enemy we all have to overcome. You create a better life for yourself, and you enjoy it. Things are going great, but you have not reached your final destination. That is like setting up camp on a hike at a location “that will do.” Why not find the best and most perfect location? The reason why many do not seek the best or top-of-the-goal marking is that they are unwilling to expend any more strength. This is when you must start to reform your mindset.
When reforming your mindset on strength, it may be helpful to envision any “Rocky” movie type. The ending of these movies comes down to the last match, where the champion/hero is beaten down, and it appears that they cannot get back up. This person has two choices. One is to stay down, and the second is to get back up. We can imagine that staying down is exactly what the brain is trying to tell you to do. It is saying that your body is bruised and battered, and you cannot take any more punishment. However, there is a word that you can tell your mind to change that mindset from staying down to getting back up, and that word is “no.”
When your mind is telling you to give up and give in or that you are not good enough, then you must tell your mind “NO.” You have the power to reject all the thoughts popping into your mind and continue the fight. You can rest later, but right now, you must overcome your primitive mind and show it how strong you are. The brain is telling you to take the path of least resistance and pain, but you are beginning to understand just how much strength you have. If you want to reach your most desired life, you must not let your brain take the easy way out. You must challenge your mind when it is afraid/lazy and push past your limits. This is the place your mindset has to be to unleash your fullest strength and potential.
In conclusion, you have an endless and vast amount of untapped strength within you. In order to reach the mindset of committing maximum effort requires you to challenge your predisposed mindset and nullify any fears/doubts you may have. You must realize just how amazing and capable you are. Once you can believe that, then you can start on your journey to the best version of yourself. Though you may not reach that destination, it is important that you understand that staying the way you are now can be one of your biggest regrets. You have the ability and choice right now to make a difference in your life and those around you. All you have to do is summon the strength you have and then unlock the strength you never knew existed within you. At this point, your strength will be known not only to you but also to the world.
