A mantra is a word or sounds repeated to help with concentration/focus. Mantras have evolved, and now there is a personal mantra. The definition of a personal mantra is “an affirmation to motivate and inspire you to be your best self” by, -Destiny Odyssey. In this week’s blog, I will go over how the Power of Mantras can positively impact your life, share with you the mantras I use, and teach you how to make your Mantras for motivation.
The power of mantras comes from their repetitive nature. Our thoughts will dictate how we feel at a given moment, so it is essential that what you allow in your mind can serve you. Often, our thoughts can be very damaging and, after a while, becomes debilitating. We might not think we are enough, we might believe that there is nothing more to come from our life, or we might think that we are dumb and nothing good can ever come to us. In a sense, this is bad karma for ourselves, but the mind is much more than karma.
You can decide what thoughts run through your head at any moment. Outside influences might make it hard to focus, be honest with your true thoughts, and identify any feelings you are experiencing. Whether you have a positive affirmation or a negative mindset, it stems from the thoughts you think of each day. If you think many negative thoughts throughout your day, you will be in a place of negativity, and in this place, it is very easy for your mind to give up on any hurdle or obstacle. On the other hand, if we have a more positive affirmation, we are more likely to keep going and try more, even if failure could occur.
The mind is the starting place for the change we want to be. Our mind is a garden, and we can fill it with beautiful flowers or fields of weeds, cacti, and thorns that make our mind a place we do not want to seek refuge when we are alone. Often after a long day, our mind is tired, and we have this negative mind on our shoulders, and we often take the road of least resistance. Things like buying fast food instead of cooking a healthy meal or going home, sitting on the sofa, and watching TV have become our norm. Many people dread going to work and pray that the weekend comes quickly. When did we start waiting for weekends and dreading the work week?
Once you understand where your mind is, you can start to pinpoint what types of mantras for motivation will benefit you. An example that is easy to understand is the Power of Mantras relating to fitness and health. Fitness mantras for motivation give you a rush of motivation. Think of your New Year’s resolution. People are so adamant about getting in shape for the new year, but they give up not even three months into the year. They are now waiting nine more months to make the same resolution and hope they can stick to it this time. Well, there is one thing about hope, and that is it is not certain.
For the Power of Mantras to have a considerable effect on your life, you must commit. Again, the power of the mantra comes from its repetitive nature. If you tell yourself something enough, you are going to believe it. The same is true if others tell you something repeatedly, and you believe them. We sometimes forget that we are in charge of our thoughts, feelings, and actions and let others influence us. Once you are aware and conscious of what you keep in your mind, can you utilize that power of mantras? This power can be a useful tool to help you get to your most desired place in life. This positive affirmation will affect you and everyone you decide to keep around you.
The Power of Mantras helps me unlock any latent potential and wake me up. I can tell you from experience that I was in and out of self-doubt before using mantras for motivation. I was filled with negative thoughts and uncertainty at any crossroads in my life. I found and started to use different types of mantras to help overcome the weakness in my mind. Today, I no longer allow weakness to define me, and I set myself up for success each day with the personal mantras for success I use.
The mantras I use help motivate me to push when I’m tired and assist with keeping a positive attitude. These mantras consist of a few things. First, I find something I want to have or to lose. If I want strength, a mantra would be, “I am strong; I am unbreakable!” or “I am not afraid.” A mantra is something that you can make from your own experience and vocabulary. The best thing about mantras is that they should be unique to you. I am very driven to be extremely tough on myself. One of my more serious mantras is, “Don’t negotiate with weakness; KILL IT!”. I usually think of this one in the gym. I can be tired and want to go home, and I repeat this mantra a few times, and I am off to the races. “I cannot be stopped.”
Here is a short list of mantras you can try out and begin to incorporate into your life:
-
”Good things are supposed to happen to me.”
-
“I am beautiful/wonderful/amazing/the best/unstoppable.”
-
“I was born for greatness, do not let my greatness lay down any longer.”
-
“I love you so much!”
-
“I will not give up; I will not give in until I am done.”
-
“My journey is not over; I have so much more to give.”
-
“Not yet; I am not done! Not yet…”
-
“This is my day. I won’t get this day again. I want to make count today!”
-
“See-through my eyes, heal through my touch, soothe through my hands, and feel through my heart.”
These are a few Power of Mantras I often use to help with my mind’s needs. Just like a car, we need regular tune-ups. We get beat up each day in life. We forget at times to do the needed repairs and maintenance for ourselves. That alone can cause anyone to get tired, run down, and break down. Remember, these mantras can be recited anywhere. You can do them while driving to work or while taking a shower. The trick is to be very repetitive with the act. Keep on repeating the mantra until you believe it. You might not start believing on day one, but one day you will wake up, the sun will seem brighter, the air you breathe in will be more noticeable, and the steps you take will be more meaningful. Our purpose will be front and center for the world to see.
The mantras I listed are just examples, but the real power comes from mantras you make yourself. These mantras do not have to be intricate, and please, feel free to use the ones I provided if you cannot figure out any for yourself. All of this will help your mind to want to be in a more positive state and step away from the negativity once it tries to settle in. Also, avoid things like “I am not good enough” and lean more towards thoughts like, “I love me!”. Darkness, fear, sadness, and hate cannot share the same space as light, trust, happiness, and love; decorate your space how you see fit.
In conclusion, personal mantras for success can be one of the best tools we can use each day to reach the success. A mantra can help you to be more positive, confident, and driven to accomplish your dreams. A strong mindset and the devoted act of remaining positive can give you the newfound energy and motivation you have been searching for. Today, create mantras to help serve and guide you to your most desired life. “Today, I am on purpose!”
