Our thoughts and ideas seem to go on forever in our minds. They change at the slightest of words, moments, or feelings. Nonetheless, they are abundant with no end in sight. The mindset is similar to an extent but not as volatile to change. When changing your mindset, there is a series of processes in the mind that must occur to change your mindset. This is not saying that your mind cannot take a drastic fall or rise, but it is more common for the mind to rise or fall into the projected mindset slowly. We will be talking about one of the many mindsets a person can attain through practice and discipline. In today’s blog, we will be talking about a dynamic mindset and its benefits for you.
I often get asked how many types of mindsets there are for a person to master. My reply is as many as you need to bring out the best in you. I ask them how many tools do you have in their toolbox. I clarify to them that there is no one fit tool for every situation unless you like destruction and only have a sledgehammer. However, we are talking about building, not demolition, so be aware that a specific tool will do better in a particular area, while other tools may not compare. The same is true for some types of mindsets. One mindset could serve you better than another, so it is essential to know where to apply which kind of mindset. If you are at the point where you need directions to where and how to use your mindset, I would recommend you find a coach or a mentor to help with the process.
When we talk about a dynamic mind, it can adapt to many situations. A dynamic mindset is defined as a mindset that can easily change and adapt to the needed position. I like to think of a dynamic mindset as a multi-tool. It has several tools that can be used in place of the full-size models, but it is inferior in some aspects. A dynamic mind can change as quickly as a multi-tool can by simply swapping to the now-needed tool. Regardless if it is better/worst than the real thing, sometimes it is essential to make progress, even if it is an inferior method.
I remember when I was young, I had a multi-tool with a small saw on it. A large tree was hitting my window at night and making a noise, so I decided to cut it down. I worked on the tree limbs for over three hours. The mission was successful, and there were no more issues with the tree on my window. Well, the following year, the tree had the same problem. The branches had reached the window and were making noise on the window again. I knew that I had spent over three hours cutting down the limbs last time, and I was not about to commit to that ordeal again, so I went out to buy a hand saw. Cutting the limbs this time around was completed in less than 30 minutes.
Some years went by, and the tree was still growing into the window, so I said the tree would have to be cut down. The first year with the multi-tool was terrible, and the second year with the handsaw was better, but I got blisters, so I decided to use a chainsaw in the third round. In less than 10 minutes, the tree was fallen. I dragged the tree away in triumph and with a new understanding that even if you have a tool, it may not be the ideal tool. I find that people struggle with this concept in some facet of their life. People are under the notion that if something “works” or “gets the job done,” they do not seek another way, a better way. That is why we will be speaking about the dynamic mind and how it can put your life on the easy street.
We all know life is not going to be easy all the time. There will be some issues, problems, traumas, and challenges we will have to deal with at some point in our life. What do you think is most common when someone loses a job? What most people do is start with worry about how they will pay bills or continue to live the lifestyle they have built. After, they may feel sadness which is most commonly followed by anger. Not everyone is going to feel these three or even in this order. However, this thinking is natural but not beneficial to our next steps. That is why we need to replace some of our ordinary thinking with thoughts and ideas that will help boost it to where it needs to be. That is where being dynamic comes into play.
When you are dynamic, you can be positive toward any change that comes into your life. Yes, it is essential to feel emotions, but there is a difference between contemplating negative emotions and coming up with a plan to elevate your emotional well-being. If you can train your mind to change how it thinks when it believes in some manner that is not promoting growth, you are on to something big. After applying a dynamic mindset, you will notice that troubles will come in your life, but they do not seem as dire as they used to. Adults naturally learn to be dynamic with age, but certain areas they struggle with, like careers, relationships, and family.
When dealing with any trouble area in your life, you must replace your thoughts, feelings, and actions with positive instead of negative ones. This is easier said than done because sometimes the mind gets stuck, and we will hold onto something far too long, resulting in wasted time and more self-hurt. However, if you train your mind to find the better in any situation, you will not find yourself in that place as often. A dynamic mind is just another tool for the toolbox. It can be used when you need to change quickly and give yourself a needed boost if you start to stagnate.
A dynamic mind is there to help you see the change that is possible in any situation. You can have a dynamic mindset with other perspectives, but it is meant as a buffer of sorts. Change is good, but you could be mistaking movement for progress if you are in constant flux with no focus. Falling into this pattern can cause you to waste precious time and energy. Do not fall victim to doing the wrong things and feeling stuck where you are. I see this in the careers people choose. They choose a job they think will be what they want to do for the rest of their life and find out that is not the case.
It is vital to be self-aware when using this mindset. Make sure you are not hiding the truth from yourself simply to remain unharmed. Though the truth may hurt, it will be the most important lesson which leads to the most remarkable advancements. The best use for attaining a dynamic mind is not to get stuck in your life. If you find that you still lack in some areas, even with this type of mindset, then seek help from a life coach or mentor who can help navigate you through those troubled waters. You were meant to sail unabated regardless of the circumstances that may occur in your life. Do not allow yourself to get in the way.
Until then,
