How to Feed Encouragement Into Your Life

One of the beautiful things about life is that every day has the opportunity to be different. You can choose that day for rest, fun, growth, work, etc. I think that many people who come to me and explain that their life is not where they want it to be can learn from this blog. The reasoning is that most people go through the motions of their days rather than feeling them. They succumb to daily habits that do not fulfill their ambitions/pursuits in life. The remedy is to feed and encourage how you want to feel and accomplish it in your life. In this blog, I want to talk about how to feed and encourage the areas of your life that will help you feel more alive and motivated to become the best version of yourself.

On my journey to living a life filled with positivity, I had to grow. I had to find what made my soul smile each day. I have come to learn that you do not have to climb Mt. Everest to feel good about yourself. You can start to smile right now and watch that smile melt the ice that has covered your soul. Finding that positive feeling in your life comes from the things you do and how you think about them. For example, if you dislike going to work on Monday mornings, then you will be the type of person who has a love-hate relationship with Sunday and cannot wait until Friday comes around. If you live life waiting for tomorrow, then you will never live today.

There are things you can do right now that will help you be better today. You can read a book/blog, work out, learn a skill, organize your life, or simply spend time with your family. Whatever good you want in your life, it is your job to feed and encourage its growth. For example, if you want to have better relationships, then you must put in the time/care it needs. The same can be true about anything. Your health, work life, and hobbies can also benefit from you becoming more focused on the areas you want to see growth. That is the purpose of feeding and encouraging the areas you want for yourself. You have to nurture what you want so it can grow strong and healthy. The desire to be more than you are right now can be fulfilled, but it will require you to put in some direct focus on the things you want to accomplish.

A more positive self is another area you should apply this feed and encourage mindset. The main benefit of working on yourself is that what you want to attain in life will come more easily. Being positive is more than just smiling and showing the world you are not broken yet. Being positive means seeing the good instead of focusing on the bad. We live in a society that uses excuses to validate their failures/mistakes. However, the joy of being alive is about learning and making those mistakes. If you can shift your mindset to be more positive, then you can take away all that self-doubt you have put in your mind. You are just a few life changes away from a more positive self. You just have to make sure you feed the part of you that will bring you the life you want.

The story below is a Native American tale that was shared amongst the people. This story is an excellent representation of what you feed and encourage in your life will be the determining factor in what you get.

` Initium `

One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.”

One is evil. It represents anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The grandfather simply replied, “The one that you feed.”

` Fin `

Many lessons can be spoken about in this story. The first being that the grandfather was filled with wisdom and was passing it down to the next generation. The grandfather knew about the good and evil of man and made it clear the role of each wolf. The grandson in the story was also curious as to who would win. In our society, many of the stories we tell our children are about a hero who comes and saves the day. However, in this story, the grandfather doesn’t give you that cliche of the hero (Good) wolf will win. The grandfather is being honest and leaves the choice up to the grandson. We have that same choice in our life. We can feed and encourage the good we want in our life, or we can go the other way.

Knowing what you want in your life is just as important as knowing what you do not want in your life. The boy in the story was young, so it leads me to believe that he will favor the good wolf to win. However, life is not about wanting/wishing, and things will suddenly fall into your lap. To get the things you want, you have to take the correct actions to get them. That means if you want good in your life, then you must focus and do those good actions that will bring about the results you seek. If you know what you want to feed and encourage, then you can start that journey right now. If you are confused about where to start, then I recommend seeking a coach that can help you find what makes you tick. I sort of knew what I wanted in my life, but it wasn’t until one of my mentors told me what I was meant to do with my life did I realize it. Sometimes all it takes is for a pair of outside eyes to tell you the answer that was wisping in your mind.

In closing, what you feed and encourage in your life will become your reality. Let today be the day you choose to feed and encourage only the things that will serve you in your life. If you are not sure where to begin, then seek help from a coach that can help you find your purpose in life. Once you have that knowledge, then you can devise a plan that will help you reach the place in life you want to be. It will require work and effort to get there, but the journey is worth it. All the good that can come about from finding the reason why you are alive will be worth its weight in gold. That reason will benefit you and the world both, so do not hesitate to find your purpose in life. Once there, reach out and find develop a plan that will lead toward your most desired destiny.
