T-U-S Part 11: Navigating – Three Areas of Life

In this blog, I want to share with you the one type of map to your success. I want to share with you how you can find what area of life you are in and possibly how to get out of it. I will tell you now that the only way to reach the final level of life is through your own actions. The three areas I will be talking about are:

Area 1 – No effort

Area 2 – Complacency

Area 3 – Fullest Potential

Area-1

The people in the first area have and show very little effort in their lives. These people take what they are given in life. They know things are not perfect and put things out for a later date. These people have little to no control over their lives and can be easily tricked and manipulated. Fear can easily manipulate this group of individuals to make choices that will not be beneficial for them in the long run. These same people think that there is a shortcut or easy way to reach the top. We know that there are no shortcuts to success, so how can we get out of this area if we are stuck here?

The first step is to understand your setbacks. You have to take an outside look into who you are and what you do each day. If you are a person who doesn’t work and watches more television shows than reads books, that will further your education and knowledge. This can potentially be a serious problem. Doing things like watching T.V. or using copious amounts of social media can slow down any progress you can have for your future days. I am not saying that people who do some of these things cannot be successful. You have to make sure you at least set your days up so you can win and be in a better place in your future days. I think there is a huge difference between taking a break and wasting the day away on your phone or watching television.

The people who wait for tomorrow are showing no effort. These people procrastinate and put off because they are lazy, scared, or ignorant. If you are wasting most of your week on non-productive things, then how can you ever reach the places you want to be in life? You have to put in more effort than you are willing to expend on a given day to make progress in your life. This means that you have to give up the days when you sit down on the sofa and watch Netflix series because you feel stressed or bored. If you feel stressed or bored, Netflix is not the correct answer. Though you may feel like you are de-stressing, you are actually becoming numb to what is ailing you. You are applying no effort and have given up. Why give up on life when better horizons await you?

Area-2

This is where most people will fall into their adult lives. This is because they feel that they have already put in enough work in their life and are at a place where things are “OK.” Things may not be great or the best, just ok. These people are satisfied with what they have and do not seek much else besides their material desires. These people are the most difficult to help get out of their complacent ways and apply more effort toward their best selves. The reason why is that this group of people relies heavily on excuses. They blame others for their shortcomings and have many limiting beliefs holding them back.

I recall the time when I made the major change from a complacent lifestyle to one where I would have to reach my fullest potential. I was a teacher at the time, and though I loved teaching, I felt that there was more I could do. I would return home with energy to spare and carelessly spend my time on things that had no benefit to me. I started to feel uneasy in my own skin, and I wanted to change, but I didn’t know how. I did not have anyone to help me reject the standard American dream and demand more. Not until I saw myself wallowing in complacency did I seek to change the outcome of the life I was setting up for myself.

I will tell you that leaving your comfort zone and the complacent zone you have built will be a scary thing. You do not know what is around the next corner in life, but you have to take a risk. You sometimes have to fail in order to reach your fullest potential. I had to learn the hard way when escaping my complacent lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean you have to too. My biggest advice to anyone that has had enough of what life has given them and wants to do and be better then they must make an effort to get out of their old habits. You have to tear yourself down piece by piece and rebuild using only the pieces that will serve you. You can imagine how many pieces will be left behind, but it is necessary in order to reach the next area of your life.

Area-3

When you reach your fullest potential, you will wonder why you have procrastinated so long to get to this point. You might have realized that you were fearful of failure or even fearful of success. Whatever your reason is for postponing your evolution will be your greatest lesson. You will now have the keys to open all the doors that were once locked for you. Perhaps behind those doors will be riches, wealth, love, prosperity, or peace. Whatever is behind them is waiting for you to claim what was always rightfully yours. You just have to want to take ownership of what is behind those locked doors and find the keys.

The secret to unlocking your fullest potential is your mindset. What do you think about it on a daily basis? What do you think about yourself and others? Everything that is going on in your brain either matters or doesn’t to get you to your highest self. You have to learn how to take out the trash in your mind. The things that do not serve you and are holding you back. Whether it be people, things, or yourself, you must discard all those obstacles that are keeping you away from your fullest potential. Find yourself a mentor/coach that can help navigate you through areas you are unfamiliar with so that you can avoid mistakes that can slow/wear you down/out.  You are the master of your destiny.

Taking ownership of your life will help you to recognize and stay within your fullest potential. You are in charge of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. You are the person who is most responsible for your destiny. You have to want what you dream of the same as you want good to be in your life. You have to want to be successful more than you want to eat or breathe. You have to want to reach your fullest potential more than you want to sit on the sofa waiting for the next good moment in your life to come. You have to create the moments you seek. You must push when you do not feel like it, and you must not give up when things become challenging.

In conclusion, understanding the area where you are in life can be the best road map to your fullest potential. You might have a long road ahead of you, but remember, you do not have to travel alone. Look for a mentor/coach that can help you along the way. Transform your thinking into thoughts that are geared to propel you toward your most desired future. Life can be filled with uncertainty and unknown results, but what I know for certain in life is that people have the ability to reach the places they wish to reach with persistence and consistency. Once you decide that you are not going to settle for anything less than your best, then life will start to seem less random and more as you planned it. You are the answer to all of the problems in your life. The only thing you must do is take proper action to get you to your most desired life.
