Make them Remember

YOU have limitless potential inside you. There is nothing that you cannot do. In this blog, you will learn how to be the person you wish to be. There is no reason that you cannot attain the success that others have achieved. What is required to get this done? The answer is perseverance and consistency. Perseverance is the focus toward your goal that cannot be broken, and consistency is keeping this same course of action that will produce positive and desired results. Committing to giving your all each day will create a legacy no one can ignore. This is living with intention, always striving for greatness, and creating memories that will last.

The first part of making them remember you is to be unforgettable. You want to be the person that people want to be or admire. You want to be the person that people think about when you are not around. That is creating a type of gravitation towards others that is natural and wholesome. In being unforgettable, you create a legacy for yourself and create memories (hopefully good ones) for the people around you. There are characteristics that set people apart, and that is the aura you exude. By living with intention, you ensure that your every action contributes to striving for greatness and making your mark on the world.

Next, in order to be unforgettable, you have to have confidence. Confidence is one of the first things I feel when speaking to someone new. It says a lot about a person who is comfortable and confident in their skills and knowledge. Being confident is not only attractive, but it shows others that you are not afraid of failure. In order to strive for greatness, you have to be confident in your abilities. You have to know what you want and go for it, living with intention every step of the way.

Being fearful or timid is not something a confident person will show. Confident people tend to have the characteristics of being brave, heroic, and strong. Just by allowing yourself to be more confident, you will attract others into your life. Confidence is something that others will immediately respect. However, you might have some people who are jealous of you, and that is the truth of the world. You will not be able to make everyone happy, and not everyone will like you. I say, “The more haters one has is actually a compliment because it means that you are influencing someone else’s emotions and making them feel some type of way. It all comes back around to how they view themselves. If they hate you because you’ve got it, then consider yourself blessed and be humble. They are placing you in the position they wish to be in and hate you because you are there and not them.

The respect you get from being confident is a byproduct of being unforgettable. You can be that person that everyone gravitates toward or the person that people stay away from. I remember when I started to be more confident in school. It was strange at first, but it felt good to me. My mentality walking into any room was, “Walk into a room as if you owned it.” I did that with every step. Doing that over a long period of time has not only made me more confident and magnetic but also enacted a higher level of respect I receive from others. I noticed people look in my direction with a look like, “Who does he think he is?!” Those looks just fueled my confidence. I was becoming something more, creating memories along the way that would shape my future.

The next step to making your life one to remember is becoming a leader. At the time I started to change in high school, I began stepping into a leadership role. I was the person who would set the plans for the weekend and the person people would look for at lunch. I tested this out, and it was interesting how people started to gravitate toward this confidence. I was still young at the time, so I developed an inflated ego, which I would later deflate as I grew, realizing that living with intention meant being humble as well. Leaders can be humble too.

Now, a leader is someone who is not afraid to make tough calls. These people are able to work well with others and make the impossible possible. I was listening to a motivational speech the other day, and one of the speakers said, “You can be a leader or a follower.” That thought rang true in my head. However, I believe that there can be more than one leader in the workplace, in a household, and in a given room. I do see that oftentimes people take the easier road and just take orders. I do not think there is anything wrong with being a follower as long as you continue to grow and one day enable yourself to become a leader. Striving for greatness doesn’t mean you have to be in the front all the time — sometimes leadership is about supporting others and stepping up when needed.

Being a follower at the early stages of life was crucial in shaping the person I am today. I say this because being a follower allowed me to feel what a follower feels and see leaders crumble that I once looked up to. This taught me compassion and understanding. Kids can be some of the cruelest people in the world at times, but they are growing up and learning. They act on what they know and see. I was fortunate that what I saw helped me to make choices that would be to my benefit rather than to my demise. Creating memories from these experiences helped me to evolve into a more kind, knowledgeable, effective, and resilient leader today. I now have a mindset to remain accountable for my actions and understand that what I do has the ability to affect others.

The last step is to have a vision or a dream that others can believe in. Your visions and dreams have the ability to instill hope, passion, and initiation in others. When people believe in your vision, they will back you up and help you achieve your goals. This happens because of your words, energy, confidence, and mission, which instill belief into others. That belief translates into them having faith in you and your vision. Just as you want to grow your dream, they want to see it grow too. Your vision and dreams become your mission statement, and they can only be achieved by someone who is determined to put in the work and be consistent. Living with intention is about pursuing these dreams with clarity and focus.

The world wants your legacy never to be forgotten. Just being on this earth means that you have a purpose. You are a miracle that happened when you were born, and your future is full of the potential to create even more miracles. In order to make the world remember your name, you have to aim to be unforgettable, be confident, strive to be a leader, and have a dream or vision that others can believe in too. This is my formula for being unforgettable in this world. Now, you might not want to be remembered or put in the work, and that’s fine. Wanting more out of life and striving to become the best version of yourself requires a conviction that many are not willing to commit to.

In closing, being someone the world remembers depends on the legacy you wish to leave behind. You can be a somebody or a nobody. The choice is yours: you decide what you want your life to be remembered for. I hear that people on their deathbeds only regret the things they did not do or the things they didn’t complete in life. They don’t talk about losing money in the stock market or breaking their parent’s heirloom vases. What people regret most is not living life to its fullest potential. They regret not being open to love, not spending time with family, and the misuse of their time. Creating memories with the people you love and pursuing your dreams are things you will never regret. Time is the most valuable asset we will ever have in our life. So let today be the day you decide that your time is important. Let today be the day you say, “Enough is enough,” and aspire to be great. Let today be the day the world hears the whisper of your name, so that in the future, that whisper becomes a roar, and the world will know who you are. Be unforgettable, and make them remember your name!
