Ideals Vs. Ambition

Reven Concepts came into existence to remind people that they have a choice to settle for less or go after more in their life. Thereon is that many of us are starting off on the wrong foot and not making the needed adjustments. This may be because of their environment, but typically it is because of society in general. We are led to believe and act a certain way, but that way may not be conclusive to the life we dream of having. The carrot on the stick syndrome has never been more vivid in my eyes. People are being corralled to chase after mediocrity because that is what they are told they are allowed. In this week’s blog, I want to help you see the differences between ideals vs. ambitions and how to use each to get your dream life.

If I asked you to tell me your ideal life, could you? In reality, many of us can name some things that make us feel good and smile on the inside. We can label things that may bring us happiness and an overall better life. Now, will money solve all your problems? No, but it will open your eyes to what truly matters in your life. I was reading a book the other day, and there was a story about a family who wanted to be millionaires. When they reached millionaire status, they gave all their money away. Now, you might think they have lost their minds, but it took them having money to realize that money was not what truly mattered to them. For this family, it was the act of giving that was worth more to them than all the money they had attained.

When we look at our ideal life, it is attached to a fantasy. The thing about dreams is that we do not know how we will feel if they are achieved. I find this way of thinking the same as when people do not know what they want to eat. People know they want food but are uncertain of what they should get. The same is similar to when you reach a goal that was once a dream. You may have all these beautiful feelings coming in and making you feel good, but how long does that last? How long until you have another dream that’s bigger and better? How long will it take for you to become unhappy with your situation again? All these questions must be addressed when looking toward our ideal(perfect) life.

The other side of the thinking is your ambitions. Though these terms are closely related, they differ in one significant sense. Ambition is dealing with a strong desire to achieve something. To fulfill your purposes, you must be willing to put in the hard work to get there. That means that if you are ambitious enough to go after your dream life, you will be more inclined to reach it. However, sometimes the drive to achieve things in your life is not enough alone to get you to complete your goal. That is because ambition doesn’t necessarily mean resilience. Many people will give up when faced with a challenge.

When we look at both ideal vs. ambition, we will notice that simply stating the perfect life does not guarantee it. When you are dealing with your ideals, you are thinking of ways to make your life better. There will need to be some form of action to move toward the perfect life you seek. I find that many people cannot get past their ideal life and implement action because they fail to apply the needed ambition. You see, ambition is that spark that creates the fire needed to light the way to the best you and the best life.

If you want to reach a high level of success, you must be willing to see both ideals and ambition. The reason for this is ideals are your perception of what’s perfect. For example, maybe your perception of a romantic night out is eating at Olive Garden. I will not burst your bubble and tell you that Olive Garden is not romantic if that is your belief. Instead, what I will do is take you out to an Italian Restaurant that is good and has an atmosphere where romance can naturally flourish (I’m not trying to sweep you off your feet). If I left you to your perception of the perfect night out, then you would continue eating fast food for all your date nights. However, now that I set the bar higher, you can see that your ideal life was not the pinnacle you could reach. That is why having a Life Coach or a Mentor is essential. You can see your surroundings and use your experiences to make an informed judgment. I am here to show you what is possible.

If you choose to go after what is possible after your ideals have been altered, then that is your ambition taking over. Now, you see going out to Chain Restaurants as something that may no longer be your cup of tea. You may think I have spoiled you, but you should be fully satisfied to an extent in life. Especially since you might not have time to go out often, that night out should be excellent, not mediocre. Now, I want you to apply how you can alter your ideals in other aspects of your life. The changes may affect your relationship, career, or future goals, but it is good to raise the bar to heights you never knew were there.

Ideals & Ambitions will help you push past your everyday thinking and teach you that change needs to happen even after you labeled a perfect life. This is due to us not knowing what is allotted to us in life. Many of us operate under a reasonable level of achievement. That means that you will stay within the bounds of what you believe is achievable before you set out on more challenging and far-out-of-reach goals. I tell my clients to remain consistent in their progression in life and monitor/modify their dream life up, never down. When people cut themselves short, the negative mindset will take over, and you will fall into a realm of complacency and stagnancy in due time.

The goal of understanding your ideals and levels of ambition is to be an indicator of what you are primed to accomplish today. If you notice that your ambition is not at a level to get you to the life you want, then I recommend looking for a Life Coach to help you along the way. Getting a Life Coach is a solution to get you to where you need to be more quickly and reliably. I have helped people get on a better path with one month of coaching. Once you get to a point where you feel confident in your ability to walk to your goals alone, then I remain on the sidelines if needed. I see with many of my clients that they need reminders not to go back to old habits, and I do that at no cost.

In closing, your ideal life can be attained! To get it, you must apply the needed amount of ambition. If you are aiming below your perfect life not to appear greedy or fear failure, then change that way of thinking. You should be striving for more than what you ask for each day. If you allow your brain to dictate what it should do, you will fall into a mindset of complacency. Make sure your ideals evolve as you grow and remain ambitious in any endeavor you go forth to in life. If you are having a difficult time in that regard, then do not hesitate to reach out to me and start the journey to your best self yet. Create your ideal life and be ambitious enough to go after it!
