The idea of broke and broken is a two termed meaning. The first and more obvious meaning is that you do not have any money and feel inadequate. The second meaning is that you think something is wrong or missing in your life, but you do not know what that thing is. Today I will be breaking down the difference between the two and teaching you how to get out of that mindset.
The first idea of broke and broken will deal with the concept of money and feeling inadequate in your bank account. Many people, especially today, are struggling to make ends meet. Though that is a commonality, it doesn’t have to be common in your life. You can create wealth and abundance in your life today. The issue I find to be common in many of the people who are broke and broken is the type of mindset they hold.
Many people with a poor mentality are living in some type of fear or scarcity. I find that many people get into a state of fear or survival that they fail to realize. That then conditions the subconscious mind to see that event or situation as something that cannot be controlled. If you know anything about mindset, you understand that if the subconscious mind is opposite to what the conscious mind thinks, the subconscious mind will win every time. The good news is that we can change how the subconscious mind thinks.
When dealing with fear or scarcity, we must overcome them through a process I call rehaul. As you can imagine, a rehaul will deal with getting the old out and bringing the new stuff in. The first step is to figure out what you want to take out. The second step is figuring out what you want to put in. The last step is understanding the steps and committing to them until what you set out to do becomes a finished product. This is where the coaching process can come in handy to help you make the changes you want.
The fact that people are terrible with money is not anything new. Most people think that money is scarce and that they have to work hard for their money. Though I believe at some point in our growing up, that is a good concept to hold because it helps you create a strong work ethic, long term, it is not a good mindset to hold onto. Working weekly for a check is the best way to keep you in the poor house. The next is not allowing your money to work for you. We think we must work for our money, but at some point, we must reverse the role.
Having a coach help you with your money situation will open up doors you never thought possible. The work I do as a mindset coach and money is not the same as an investor or money coach; instead, I work with you on the mindset of money. If you understand that your career might be able to create a lifestyle but not sustain it if you decide not to work, then you are going about working in the wrong way. First, you should love what you do, and second, you should not have to work; you work because you want to. Many people work due to necessity, not desire.
If a person desires a new life away from that broken mentality, they will have to unlearn many things they learned as children from their parents, teachers, and maybe even the habits they developed. Often when people get paid, they buy something or pay something off, like a bill. Though you want to ensure your lights are on, we give ourselves a roadblock when we think in this broke manner. We typically will calculate and budget what we have to pay for the month, such as rent, utilities, etc. When you think this way, you tell the subconscious how much money you need to keep the level of comfort you currently have in your life. Though keeping your comfort is good, it should not be the goal.
To fix this mindset, you must view money and your situation as abundant rather than scarce. That means if you have four thousand in bills/expenses per month, you should be looking at ways to triple your income. Though some of this could be living within your means, often, many people are just poor with money to the point they cannot manage it to help create growth and prosperity. When I wanted more than just to live in a rat race, I started to ask myself how much I was worth.
The question is a two-prong path because one path will tell you how much you are worth, and the second will help you find something you are passionate about. When you have passion for your work, in a sense, it acts as the glue to help piece together your broke mentality mindset and form one that starts to see money as a tool and your situation as an opportunity for growth. If you do not know what you are passionate about, it might be time to find a coach to help you. After you have dealt with your peasant mind, you can look at the second aspect of broken and broken.
The second idea of broke and broken will address the concept of who we are as people. We live in a society where we can be anything we want, but many people choose to conform and be just like everyone else. It is no wonder everyone has this broken mentality on both fronts. Though it might not seem like the following society is bad, we must see it as a cliff. If society is walking towards a cliff, do you continue to walk in that direction? To be clear, society is not walking towards that cliff to get a killer selfie; they are walking towards that cliff, which will spell out their destruction.
The mindsets of the world are in a constant flux of fear and anxiety, which cause them to deteriorate at a rapid rate. There is a reason why there is an epidemic of unstable and unhealthy people in both body and mind. There is also an epidemic of weak men and women who are confused about gender roles. Though I am not here to tell anyone how they should live, I will say that as people, we have the choice to be complete and repaired or continue being broke and broken.
If a person is operating under this broke and broken mindset, they will struggle to see more in their life. These people will move through the days and barely make it through the rat race they put themselves in. The truth about the rat race is that you are only a part of it if you choose to participate. There should be no reason why you cannot get out of your broken mindset, but the reality is that many people will stay there. The reason is that it is easy to stay broken and not work on repairing what we need to be fixed.
To begin the process of repairing a broken mindset, you have to create an understanding of where you are in your life. Are you happy? Are you doing a fulfilling type of work? Are you making a difference? Simply asking yourself questions can help you begin the repair process. This is because you are creating an awareness of yourself, and asking deep questions can help you get down to the subconscious mind. When you find those meaningful answers, your mind will begin the repair process.
Though this process seems simple in text, it can be riddled with trial and error. That said, it is important you stay on the right track and do not regress on the journey. I recommend a coach for this step because they will help facilitate the question-asking process and hold you accountable. The repair process can be full of hardships, but the result is amazing. Who you become after the fact will be someone who will see how much they have grown and how much better than life has become due to the changes they implemented.
In closing, the concept of broken and broken is a two-pronged way of looking at mindset. We can see it as a situation, or we can see it as an emotional state. Regardless if one or both need fixing, you can get the help you need here at Reven Concepts. We will begin repairing or reconstructing broken areas that need some care. There should be no reason why you walk around feeling incomplete.
